ANNUAL MANAGERS MEET
::: Twenty-nine managers from various centers in Asia attended the Managers Meet held early October in the fabulous city of Shanghai, China. Srirat, manager of the Amari Watergate Hotel center, and John represented Thailand this year and stayed at the luxurious Radisson Plaza Xing Quo Hotel where the meetings took place. The Radisson (see photo) is situated in a beautiful garden in which are located several stately villas and guest houses, one of which was used by Chairman Mao Tse Tung during his visits to the city. On the third floor of the hotel is the super Clark Hatch Fitness Center which, besides the gymnasium and aerobics studio, features an indoor swimming pool and spa (see photos).

The day prior to the Meet managers visited the city of Hangzhou and the Clark Hatch LifeSpa located in the West Lake Times Plaza, a short walk from the scenic West Lake. All the Clark Hatch Fitness Centers and LifeSpas in China are built on a grand scale and are the epitome of luxury, but this particular facility exceeds all others and was certainly worth the visit.

Shanghai is one of the fastest growing cities in the world and is where Clark Hatch is expanding the most. During the Meet managers were invited to the official opening of the fifth center in Shanghai at the Century Metropolis residential complex (see photo).
Besides Shanghai and Hangzhou, Clark Hatch also has two centers in Beijing and one each in Chengdu and Suzhou. If you are visiting China make sure to visit some of these fabulous centers.

A big thank you to our energetic team of Clark Hatch professionals in China - Paul Tao, Andrew Chong, David Squires and Dianne Tan and their managers for organizing the Meeting and for doing such a great job in expanding the network.

EVENTS AND COMPETITIONS

::: How time flies! It was anniversary time at the Amari Watergate Hotel Clark Hatch center on 25th July with a party celebrating 9 years of fitness and fun. Center manager Khun Srirat was the host and she and her talented staff organized non-stop entertainment for members and guests whilst they enjoyed a great buffet courtesy of the hotel. Photos show Hotel General Manager Pierre-Andre Pelletier, John and staff cutting the anniversary cake and the annual award winners taking a bow.

::: For many members it was their first visit to the Ancient City in Samut Prakarn which made the Clark Hatch Cultural Bike Tour held there in late July the more memorable. Over thirty members explored the extensive grounds by biking from site to site with a guide who was on hand to explain the history of the various temples and monuments, all followed by a delicious lunch.
All participants agreed it was a great morning out and would certainly encourage anyone who has not yet visited the Ancient City, to do so! A big thank you to Yai of Thaniya center for organizing the event.
::: Our First ever Badminton Tournament was held in August at the Don Muang sports complex and proved to be an enormous success. The team from Grand China center came out overall winners with teams from Thaniya and Atrium also picking up some trophies. Photos show the players in action and the winners with their trophies. A big thank you to Vibhavadi center staff for organizing this popular event.
::: The Brunswick Bowl, Royal City Avenue was the scene of some pretty exceptional exhibitions of 10 pin bowling on Sunday 24th August when the Clark Hatch and Amari Atrium Hotel Charity Bowling Tournament took place. This annual event is really just a warm up and appetite enhancer for a scrumptious lunch courtesy of the Amari Atrium Hotel held in the ballroom. All proceeds were donated to the Amari charity 'Baht for a Better Life'. A big well done to center manager Khun Urai, her staff and the hotel for organizing this very popular event.
::: The 7th Aerobics Marathon for AIDS Charities held on Sunday, 12th October at the Amari Watergate Hotel was a sold out affair with over 600 participants packing the ballroom - a record! Led by nine of the top aerobic dance instructors in Bangkok the marathon lasted a full 3 hours 30 minutes and the crowd was screaming for more! Various awards for best dancer, costume, group etc made this a fun event as well as a test of fitness and dance skills.
::: Yet another attendance record was broken at the 6th Annual Amari Watergate & BMW Group Thailand Charity Midnight Run when 1,900 turned out at midnight on Saturday 18th October for the 6 and 12 kilometer runs. Besides the exhilarating run it was an extremely well organized event with scores of trophies presented to winners of many categories, ticket prizes, raffles, and lots of food and drink.
Proceeds from both the Amari events go to charitable causes - 'Save a Child's Life from AIDS' and the 'Children's Village Project for HIV-infected orphan children'. It is hoped this years receipts will, for the first time, reach Baht 1 million! A big well done to Khun Srirat, manager of the Clark Hatch Fitness Center and all the staff at the hotel for organizing these two events.
::: Over 40 participants joined in the annual Table Tennis Competition held in late September at the Windsor Suites Hotel. After over 4 hours of scintillating play the Thaniya team came away with the men's singles and Chaengwattana with the women's titles in some closely fought games. Photo shows the winners with their trophies. A big thank you to manager Sukit and his staff for organizing this popular event.

::: What must be one of the most attractive spas in Bangkok is now opening at the Clark Hatch Seri Center. Constructed amongst the trees and plants at the far end of the roof top gardens away from the gym facilities, the massage rooms are housed in individual villas thereby offering an atmosphere of peace and tranquility unequalled in any other city spa. The villas comprise en suite toilets and shower rooms and are so cleverly designed with an abundant use of glass walling, it feels you are having a massage and shower in the midst of beautiful gardens. Subtle positioning of stone partitions and use of bamboo trees ensure complete privacy however! All the masseuses specialize in aromatherapy treatments and have undergone three months intensive training with an expert from the Chiva Som Academy.

If you are feeling exhausted after a day's shopping in the mall then pop up to the Clark Hatch Fitness Center, Seri Center and experience the aromatherapy massage.
It's guaranteed to bring you back to senses!
