CPR certainly wasn't required at the Clark Hatch Annual Swimming Competition held at Chaengwattana center on Saturday, 28th February. It wasn't long into the competition before it became a two horse race between Chaengwattana and Seri centers with Chaengwattana winning in the last race. A plucky Atrium team came in third. A big thank you to manager Pongsak and his staff for organizing this event. |

It was tennis time on 25th April at the Seri Center. The two fabulous astro-turf tennis courts surrounded by the beautiful bosky environment with the frangipani and bougainvillea in all their blooming magnificence set the scene for a lovely day. The tennis, well, the less said about that the better! But a fun time was had by everyone with Khun Van, pictured receiving his trophy, coming out a fine champion. |

The Sports Stadium at Kasetsart University
had never witnessed anything like it as, on Sunday 30th May, 24 teams participated
in the Annual Clark Hatch Mini Football Tournament 2004. With displays
of verve, vitality and occasional glimpses of foot balling skill, the crowds
in the stand were kept enthralled from 9am until past sundown. Even when
students from the university decided to practice their diploma presentation
ceremony on the running track right in front of the grand stand the spectators
would not be distracted. I mean would you believe it, we pay good money
to rent the place just to have these gorgeous looking co-eds marching around
spoiling the view! Anyway, after a very sportsmanlike display with only
three punch-ups during the whole competition, the JADEI TEAM came
out winners of Division I. Jate, who bears a striking resemblance to David
Beckham - the neck tattoo - cobbled his team together from a bunch of rejects
only to beat all opponents in their march to the final, which, due to total
darkness, was decided by a penalty shoot out with neither goal keeper being
able to see the ball. A big well done to Jate and his team and also to
the Runners up - Sports City 2002 Team. Winners of the Second Division were the Vibhavadi Team and Runners up the Century team with the Atrium Team winning the Third Division title and Thaniya runners up. |
Letter
from Phnom Penh - Despite having no functioning Government since the
last election ten months ago, life goes on as usual in Cambodia. In fact
business at the Clark Hatch center has never been better with manager Richard
Chin and his staff notching up record numbers of members. A new treadmill
has just been delivered to this already superbly equipped gym to keep up
with demand. Richard is also garnering some nice publicity with a Clark
Hatch aerobic dance show seen on Cambodia TV Network every week day at 7am.
If you are visiting the beautiful city of Phnom Penh make sure to pop in
to the InterContinental Hotel and say hello to Richard, seen below with
instructors Sarun, Sophana and Bunheang. |

| Two events at the Amari Watergate Hotel center attracted large numbers of participants and spectators alike with both enjoying first the Water Fun Games in April, which was won by the Thaniya center, and then the Aerobic Contest in June with the Amari Watergate team taking first prize. A big thank you to manager Srirat and her staff for organizing these popular competitions. |

| A fun time was also had by all at the Amari Atrium Hotel Charity Bowling Tournament held at the RCA Bowl on Sunday, 27th June. As in years past, all proceeds are donated to the Amari Hotels and Resorts 'Baht for a Better Life' fund which supports orphans at the Duang Prateep Foundation - a very worthy cause. A big thank you to Khun Urai, manager of the Atrium Clark Hatch Fitness Center, and her hardworking staff for organizing this popular event. The team from the Windsor Suites Hotel center, lead by manager Sukit, came out overall winners with the highest score of 1365! |
| WHAT
IS A WORKOUT? A workout is 25 percent perspiration and 75 percent determination. Put another way, it is one part physical exertion and three parts self discipline. Doing it is easy once you get started. A workout today makes you feel better than you did yesterday. It strengthens the body, relaxes the mind and toughens the spirit. When you workout regularly your problems diminish and your confidence grows. A workout is a personal triumph over laziness and procrastination. It is the badge of a winner, the mark of an organized, goal-orientated person who has taken charge of his or her destiny. A workout is a wise use of time and an investment in excellence. It is a way of preparing for life's challenges and proving to yourself that you have what it takes to do what is necessary. A workout is a key that helps unlock the door to opportunity and success. Hidden within each of us is an extraordinary force. Physical and mental fitness are triggers that can release it. A workout is a form of rebirth. When you finish a good workout you don't simply feel better YOU FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF. |
