::EVENTS AND COMPETITIONS::
ïThe 15th September was a big day at the Windsor Suites Hotel Clark Hatch center as it marked the re-opening of the fitness center in its new location next to the swimming pool and garden on the 14th floor. A glittering array of guests enjoyed a delicious buffet, a boxercise exhibition by Clark Hatch staff and a special demonstration by the Thai Gymnastic Association before touring the new facilities and the adjacent Neva Spa. Photo shows Khun Boonrawd Bosereewong, Vice President of Hotel Windsor Suites, and John cutting the ribbon during the event.
ïThe annual Table Tennis Competition was held at the Windsor Suites Hotel center in late September and saw some scintillating play by the many participants - Forrest Gump watch out is all I can say! This year the Men's singles and doubles titles were both won by talented teams from the Amari Watergate Hotel center. The Women's singles and the Mixed doubles were both won by teams from the Chaengwattana center.
ïA Sit up Competition was held at the Thaniya center with Chiranatt Thaitrong winding out 63 repetitions to win the women's (and overall) title. Somchai Amatasin performed a very creditable 59 reps to take the men's title. Photos show the winners receiving their special T-shirts. Well done!

ïThe 7th Amari Watergate Hotel/BMW Midnight Run and the 8th Aerobics Charity Dance Marathon 2004, held in October, were enormous successes both for the number of participants and money raised for charity with all previous records broken. Over 2,000 runners and 650 aerobic dancers took part in these events which saw an incredible Baht 1.4 million donated to "Save a Child's Life from AIDS Project". This charity is under the patronage of HRH Princess Soamsawali and Baan Gerda in supporting HIV-infected orphan children under the Children's Rights Foundation at Nongmuang, Lopburi province. A big well-done and thank you to Mr Pierre-Andre Pelletier, General Manager of the Amari Watergate Hotel, and Khun Srirat, manager of the Clark Hatch Center, and their staff for organizing these two huge events so spectacularly, and to all sponsors and participants for their generous support! See photos below to view some of the action.

::FITNESS PEOPLE::
Whether you've lost fat, gained muscle, improved your strength, run faster and further, or just feel and look a whole lot better, CONGRATULATIONS to our worthy Fitness People this month!
::TIP OF THE MONTH:: - Exercise at a good tempo
ïRead books and articles on weight training, strength conditioning, body building - call it what you will - and all the experts are agreed that a one minute rest between sets is optimal for maximum results. Only if you are performing very heavy lifts should this extend to a maximum of two minutes.

ïThose members in the habit of reading the newspaper for 10 minutes between sets are basically wasting their time - sorry! If you push to failure and keep rest to the minimum you will enhance your natural production of growth hormone with all the attendant health benefits. Go for it!
